VERITAS NetBackup™ Encryption Option
The NetBackup Encryption option ensures data
is protected as safely and securely as possible. During
a backup performed with this option enabled, data is
encrypted at the client using one of a variety of ciphers
(encryption algorithms) and is stored on tape or disk
in an encrypted state. This means that data is safe
and secure as it travels over the network and after
it is stored on backup media. This option supports 40-bit,
56-bit, 128-bit, and 256-bit encryption.
- Encrypts data to help secure backups and help prevent unauthorized restores
- Restores are only possible with the correct key
- Supports file systems as well as Oracle, IBM DB2 UDB, Microsoft Exchange Server, and other databases and applications, with the appropriate NetBackup agent
VERITAS NetBackup™ Netware Media Server Option
VERITAS NetBackupTM NetWare Media Server Option
provides local backup and recovery capability to NetWare
servers. Backup and restore jobs can be controlled from
one central console while storage devices are connected
directly to the NetWare server. This eliminates the
need to backup and recover NetWare servers across the
network infrastructure.
